Interesting information about Multihoming and agent failover
Hi,

I recently had to ask the question whether or not an agent in one Management Group could fail over to a Management Server in another Management Group. I didn't think it was possible initially but then found a couple of posts suggesting otherwise.

Since then I have checked with Microsoft and it is not possible - or at least not supported :)

More info can be found in the post here: http://www.momcommunity.com/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=4912#4912

Thanks,

Andy

MOM 2005 with SQL 2005 - Support is here
Microsoft have just finished wrapping up the last of the 3 hotfixes that are required to make MOM 2005 SP1 work with SQL 2005 for both the Operational and Reporting databases. The hotfixes can be downloaded from the locations below:

MOM 05 MP: Unable to discover computers in AD after upgrading to .NET Framework 2.0
KB913812

Errors can occur when data collected by MOM 2005 SP1 is queried with SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services.

MOM 2005 SP1 MP: Deadlocks may occur on SQL 2005

Please note, there is a KB article currently in development to link these 3 hotfixes and I will provide further information as it comes my way.
