Microsoft Availability Reporting Management Pack additional configuration

Right, after a strict hammering for people on the forums I have decided to upset a few people and post the additional configuration necessary to get the Availability Management Pack working.

Ok, if you have followed the deployment guide, you will have manually assigned some Computer Groups to the Availability MP Rule Sub Groups.
What you need to do is also apply all of these Computer Groups (including the TimeZone one) to the top level Microsoft Availability Reporting..... Rule group.

Please also bear in mind that it may take a few days for a report to generate after you have applied this change.

MOM Script failures related to McAfee Anti-Virus
Hey all,

Just thought I'd provide some information on an issue that I am increasingly seeing on the forums regarding MOM scripts and the ScriptScan component of McAfee anti-virus software.

If you are running McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0 you may find that MOM scripts are failing and you are seeing the following events
• Event 21246 is logged in the Application event log of the agent machine
• You receive the a 'MOM Host process was consuming too much memory and will be terminated' error in the MOM Operator Console

If you are seeing these events, you need to log on to the agent machine and unregister the McAfee ScriptScan component .dll.
• Bring up a command prompt and browse to the McAfee AV installation directory (%ProgramFiles%\Network Associates\VirusScan by default)
• Then type the following command: regsvr32 /u scriptproxy.dll
• Finally, restart the MOM service by typing the following command: net stop MOM & net start mom

The last point to note is that if you are using McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator or ePolicy Administrator to manage your AV deployment, you need to make sure to update the policy for your clients to disable the ScriptScan component or else the problem will reoccurr at every policy refresh.

For more information, referr to the Microsoft KB article on the issue: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;891605

Apparantly, patch 11 for McAfee also fixes this problem but I have not tested this yet.

Veritas Release the Storage Foundation Management Pack - Veritas Clustering.

The VERITAS Storage Foundation for Windows Management Pack monitors the events and performance counters generated by disks, disk groups, and volumes managed by VERITAS Storage Foundation 4.3 for Windows (VSFW).

Now if I could only find the link to download it...... lol
