Ok, there is no official word from Microsoft on this yet but I have tested upgrading a SQL instance hosting the OnePoint and SCDW databases from SQL 2000 to 2005.
As long as MOM is running SP1 and you leave SQL Reporting Services as 2000 (do not upgrade it), everything seems to work OK.
There is no 'official' word from Microsoft at this stage the word is that there might be a KB article about MOM support for SQL 2005 in the near future.
Guess we will have to wait and see. If I find anything else out, I'll post it here.

I reckon there is a way to get Veritas cluster virtual servers to display correctly in MOM.
I'm gonna do some testing as I think that with some registy changes, you will be able to 'fool' MOM into thinking the virtual server is running MSCS so that you can manage it properly and get the virtual server to display as a separate computer in MOM.
I'll post my findings here.

It is not a good idea to run MOM 2005 SP1 Management Packs unless you have upgraded MOM to SP1.
This is due to the fact that the script size limit hass been increased in SP1 so if you run an SP1 MP without SP1 there is a chance that a long script will be truncated and will fail to run.
There are a number of hotfixes that you can apply without applying SP1 but I think the increase in script size is an SP1 only feature. Unfortunately, there are some MP fixes in the SP1 versions of the MP's such as the Network Adapter WMI fix in the Base OS MP.
This creates a problem. MOM Admins will want to install the latest MP's to benefit from the fixes but may be creating more problems for themselves by doing so. My recommendation is to hold fire on installing SP1 MP's until your Database, Management Servers and ALL agents have been updated to MOM SP1.
