Configuration Manager 2007
Il s’agit du Webcast de la session que j’ai co-présentée avec Mark Cochrane lors des derniers Techdays en février concernant les nouveautés de SCCM 2007 R2, SP3 et R3. Vous pourrez notamment y retrouver une présentation de l’intégration de App-V dans SCCM, du Reporting Services ou bien encore le dashboard Configuration Manager.

Application Virtualization
Aprés le dashboard pour Configuration Manager, Microsoft vient d’ouvrir en bêta l’accès au dashboard App-V. Une rapide description de ce dashboard en anglais :
“The Application Virtualization (App-V) Dashboard helps customers monitor virtualized software applications with a graphical display that makes it easy to stay on top of application usage, health, and compliance. Using the Dashboard’s built-in charts, gauges, and tables, customers can track any APP-V dataset in near-real time.”

Microsoft Deployment Toolkit
Michael Niehaus a mis en ligne un script permettant de cacher/afficher la barre de progression d’une séquence de tâches MDT.

Les Deployment Guys ont mis en ligne un autre script autour de MDT permettant de traiter une situation de déploiement bien particulière : lorsque vous obtenez des erreurs de capture des paramètres utilisateurs liées à un problème de configuration des profiles utilisateurs.

Les Deployment Guys ont élaboré un script ma fois bien utile et qui m’a déjà manqué plusieurs fois. En effet ce script permettant de valider les scripts custo que vous avez vous même développés pour intégration dans MDT. Jusqu’à maintenant il était souvent nécessaire de relancer le déploiement complet d’un poste pour pouvoir tester son script en situation réelle et si par malheur vous n’aviez pas réalisé un script parfait (eh oui ça arrive :-)), il fallait perdre encore le temps d’un déploiement complet pour tester les corrections et ainsi de suite. Ce script permet de capturer le code erreur retourné par votre script durant le déploiement d’un poste, de vous l’afficher dans une boite de dialogue réservée à cet effet, de mettre en pause le déroulement de la TS afin d’apporter les corrections nécessaires au script et de ré-exécuter la même tâche afin de valider votre script sans pour autant relancer un déploiement complet.

Qui n’a jamais pesté de ne pas pouvoir lancer Trace32 dans une image de boot WinPE x64 pour parcourir les logs de déploiement d’OS que ce soit avec MDT ou avec SCCM ?
Et bien Microsoft vient de palier à ce problème et oui depuis le temps que l’on attendait cela : TRACE64 !!!

Application Virtualization Dynamic Suite Composition Tool
Dynamic suite composition is a Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V) feature that enables applications to be sequenced separately from the plug-ins and middleware applications they rely on, while still being able to utilize the virtual resources such as file system and registry settings, in the virtual environment. The packages will run and interact with one another as if they were all installed locally on a computer. The primary package will also assume the secondary packages entire virtual environment, including the virtual file system.
If there is an installer associated with a virtual application package, the installers will be automatically updated.

Application Virtualization Application Listing Tool
The App-V Application Listing Tool (ListVApps) is a tool which lists all the virtual processes that are running at a specific time on a specific computer. You can use the tool to get information about the priority and owner of each process, the size of its virtual memory, its session identifier and processing time.
User with administrator privileges will see all running virtual applications.

Application Virtualization SFT Parser Tool
You can use the Application Virtualization SFT Info utility to extract the following information from SFT files:

Validation of SFT files—Process corrupted SFT files, and recover information from corrupted SFT files.

XML export of contents of SFT—Export the contents of an existing SFT file. You can evaluate SFT segments or SFT metadata and construct a textual tree view of all file information SFT file.

Listing of all of the files in the SFT—Identify and print the files contained in the SFT with their full paths. This is a good method to quickly identify the contents of a package.

Statistics about properties of the SFT metadata—Identify statistical information, such the largest file contained in a package. This can be very useful for identifying packages that are too large in size and are causing issues loading on the client.

Get relevant information on a file in the package—Display size, timestamps, attributes, and version information associated with the package.

Ability to skip processing of file data if using functionality that requires only the metadata—Allows working with very large packages quickly.

Microsoft Application Virtualization Administrative Template (ADM Template)
The Microsoft Application Virtualization ADM template configures client settings for the App-V Windows Desktop Client and for the Terminal Services client. The ADM template centrally manages common client configurations by using an existing Group Policy infrastructure and includes settings for communication, client interface, and permissions.
